Choco dat’almonds spread

A novel and gourmand recipe for a healthy fun

Ingredients for about 500 g of spread

  • 150 g of natural dates
  • 50 g of unsweetened cocoa
  • 150 g of almond powder
  • 300 ml of drinking water
  • 2 tablespoons of honey


Step 1:

Pit the dates.

Put the dates in a saucepan and cover with water. Boil and cook until the water is absorbed by the dates (5 to 10 minutes).

Stop cooking when there is no more water in the pan.

Step 2:

Make an almond cream: using a blender, mix the almond powder with the 300 ml of drinking water.

Step 3:

Add the cooked dates in the almond cream, then mix until a smooth mixture without pieces.

Step 4:

Pour the mixture into the saucepan. Add cocoa and honey. Mix.

Cook over medium heat (5/10) for a few minutes to evaporate the excess water.

Stop the cooking when the spread has the right texture, that is to say slightly thickened to be easily spread.

A spread made of natural and healthy products… but still to consume with moderation!

Indeed, from a nutritional point of view, this paste is composed of sugars (dates, cocoa, honey) and fats (almond powder). The main difference from another spread is the high fibers content of the dates.

If you have lazy intestines, 2 teaspoons of this spread in the morning will help stimulate your transit.

You can keep this spread for several weeks in a closed container in the fridge.
