Yellow Curry Beef Stir Fry

Beef, vegetables, curry and coconut milk … an exotic and tasty meal ready in 30 minutes!

Ingredients for 2 persons

  • 200 g of beef steak
  • 100 g of canned mushrooms
  • 2 green bell peppers (around 300 g gross weight)
  • 1 onion
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil

For the beef marinade:

  • 1 tablespoon of corn flour (or Maïzena, corn starch)
  • 4 tablespoons of water
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce

For the sauce:

  • 100 ml of water
  • 1 teaspoon of mild curry
  • 1 teaspoon of ginger powder
  • ½ teaspoon of chilli powder
  • Salt, pepper
  • 200 ml of coconut milk


Step 1:

Cut the beef into thin strips.

In a bowl, mix all the ingredients of the marinade, then add the beef. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

Step 2: vegetables preparation during the rest period of the meat

Onions: cut the ends, peel the onion, cut in half, remove the germ, rinse with water and cut into thin slices.

Bell peppers: cut in half, remove the peduncles, remove the white parts, rinse with water and seed, then cut into thin slices.

Mushrooms: Rinse and drain canned mushrooms.

Step 3:

In a frying pan or wok, heat a tablespoon of olive oil and fry the onions over medium heat (7/10) for 2-3 minutes.

Then add the strings of beef drained from their marinade. Mix.

Continue cooking until all pieces of beef are cooked. Remove the beef and onions from the pan and set aside.

Step 4:

In the same pan used for cooking onions and beef, heat a teaspoon of olive oil. Add bell peppers and mushrooms. Continue cooking on medium heat (7/10) for 5 minutes.

Step 5:  

At the end of cooking vegetables, put the onions and beef in the pan. Mix.

One by one, add the sauce ingredients: 100 ml of water, 1 teaspoon of mild curry, 1 teaspoon of ginger powder and ½ teaspoon of chilli powder. Mix.

Put a lid on the pan and cook for 10 minutes on low heat (3/10).

Step 6:

After 10 minutes of cooking, remove the lid of the pan. Add the coconut milk. Mix and season to taste with salt and pepper.

Just before serving, heat your dish over low heat for a few minutes.

To make it a complete meal: eat this dish with a portion of plain rice or bread.
