Baked chicken breasts with herbs

To eat hot, cold or diced in a mixed salad

Ingredients for 2 persons

  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts (200-300 g total)
  • 2 teaspoons of olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of Provence herbs OR Italian Seasoning

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 ° F / 200 ° C.

Step 1 :

Remove excess fat from the chicken breasts.

Step 2 :

In a soup plate, mix oil, salt and herbs.

Step 3:

Rub each chicken breast into the seasoning. Flip them over and do the same on the other side. Put the seasoned chicken in a baking dish.

Step 4:

Cook for 20 minutes at 400 ° F / 200 ° C, then grill for 5 minutes. Turn over your chicken and leave the grill on for another 5 minutes.

If you cook more chicken breasts the cooking time will be longer. To check the cooking of the chicken, lift the chicken: the cooking juice must not be pink!

Step 5:

At the end of cooking, take the chicken out of the oven and put on a serving dish.

To have a juicy meat, let the meat sit for 5 minutes before cutting it.

Some ideas for your menus…

Season the chicken to your taste! To replace the Provence herbs, here are some examples of other dried herbs and spices that go well with a baked chicken … thyme, rosemary, coriander, marjoram, sage, garlic, ginger, curry, paprika, saffron and tandoori.

Make chicken dice ready for use! Depending on the use (salads, pizza toppings …), it may be better to cook the chicken in pieces rather than in whole fillets. The pieces will be better seasoned and cooking will be faster!

Give flavor to your vegetables or pasta! At the end of chicken cooking, mix your vegetables or pasta with the chicken’s cooking juices.
