A delicious creamy mashed potato to accompany a meat in sauce or a pan-fried vegetable. So simple to make and so good … you will never buy mashed potato flakes again after eating your homemade mashed potato.

Ingredients for 4 persons
- 1 kg of yellow fleshed potatoes (eg Bintje). If you buy your potatoes at the supermarket, it is often written on the packaging whether the potatoes are suitable for mashing.
- 40 g of butter
- Salt, pepper
Directions
Step 1:
Peel potatoes.
Wash potatoes with water.
Cut potatoes into large pieces.
Step 2:
Put the potatoes in a saucepan with a pinch of salt, cover with water.

Heat covered over high heat.
When the water is boiling, lower the intensity of the fire and continue cooking covered for 20 minutes; adapt the power of the fire to always have a slight boiling of the water throughout the cooking time.
Step 3:
At the end of cooking, drain the cooked potatoes, then put them back in the pan.
Place the butter on the hot potatoes.

Step 4:
Using a potato masher, mash the cooked potatoes until you obtain a smooth mash without pieces.

Season with salt and pepper.
Mix well and serve immediately.
