Pretox, or how to manage the excesses of year end festive meals

Like an athlete prepares his body for competition, you can prepare your body to face sumptuous meals…

Pretox is a possible strategy to « face » the festive period without damage.

The idea is over a short period (1 to 3 days), you lighten the work of some organs of your digestive system by providing enough energy to your body, without going on a diet or skipping meals at the risk of storing fats during the festive meals and unbalancing one’s body.

Here are the three essential rules of pretox…

1. Reduce sugars and fats. Those same ones that you may consume in excess that will tire the liver, the biliary system, and the pancreas all which participate in the assimilation of fats and sugars and promote a good digestion.

2. Consume less animal protein. You remove fatty meats, cold cuts, oily fish, dairy products, cheeses.

3. Moisturize and purify your body: Foods rich in water, fibre, vitamins and minerals as well as fruits and vegetables must fill your plate (soups, broths, purees…).
